Insomnia
Everybody has had at least one sleepless night before. Whether stresses, worries, or excitements, sleepless night drains our energy and ruins the daily routine. Sleep is an important part of a healthy life as our body recovers damages accumulated throughout the day. One bad night can affect cognitive function and body metabolism, which lead to exhaustion the next day. Just like an old saying in Asia “if you eat well, sleep well, and excrete well, you will be healthy”. Our health is controlled by various aspects and sleep is one of them.
There are various reasons for having a sleepless night and to name some of the causes:
- Emotional stress (anxieties, excitements, worries, shock, fear)
- Too much energy
- Sleeping postures and angles causing body pain
Those are the most common issues causing insomnia but the main issue is emotional stress. There are herbs which can help with emotional distress so you can fall asleep.
- Yuan Zhi – An herb often used for calming the mind and reduces brain fog.
- Suan Zao Ren – It is seed used often for insomnia. It helps to calm down the mind and increases circulation to the Heart.
- Lian Zi Xin – It is the inner part of lotus seed. It clears heat in the heart which is often created by worries and anxiety. Lotus seed (Lian Zi) is good to use as well.
- Deng Xin Cao – It is a plant which is used commonly for children with sleeping disorders. Mostly used for restless sleep caused by too much energy in the body.
- Long Gu – It is bone of animals which is used to calm the mind and restlessness.
- Mu Li – It is the oyster shell which is used for calming down the mind to help sleep.
