TCM nutrition II
In TCM, the foods have tastes and thermal natures which affect certain organs.
Thermal nature
- Hot – Thermal nature is hot therefore it heats up the body when eaten. It can be damaging body fluid when taken too much and should be taken by people who usually feel cold.
- Warm – Thermal nature is warm therefore it warms up the body. It is milder than hot temperature so it can be consumed by people feeling hot but better for people who feel chilly. It helps organs to become more active and functional.
- Neutral – Neutral thermal nature does not affect the body in any thermal direction.
- Cool – Thermal nature is cool therefore it cools the body. It is good for people having extra high energy level and body heat which needs to be cooled down.
- Cold – Thermal nature is cold therefore it chills the body. This is good for people having fever, who has too much body heat that needs to be cooled down immediately.
